Industry fellowships - Royal Society
Primary funder name: Royal Society
Closing date: 20 Apr 21
Full text: The Royal Society, in collaboration with Rolls-Royce, invites applications for its industry fellowships. These enable academic scientists to work on collaborative projects with industry, and for scientists in industry to work on a collaborative project with an academic organisation. The aim is to enhance knowledge transfer in science and technology between those in industry and those in academia in the UK. The scheme covers all subjects within the natural sciences, including biological research, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics, but excluding clinical medicine. Applicants must have a PhD or be of equivalent standing in their profession, and hold a permanent post in a university, non-profit research organisation or industry in the UK. They may be of any nationality. Applications involving spin-offs or small companies are encouraged provided they have a well-established research team and facilities. Fellowships support a period of up to two years full-time and cover fellows’ basic salary during the secondment as well as research expenses of up to £4,000 per year.
