Export as iCalendar

Primary funder name: Royal Society

Closing date: 24 Sep 20

Full text: The Royal Society and the Taiwan Ministry of Science and Technology invite applications for the cost-share programme under the international exchanges scheme. This stimulates new collaborations within the natural sciences between scientists in the UK and Taiwan, with the aim of building lasting networks and strengthening emerging collaborations. Eligible subjects include biological research, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics. Collaborations should be based on a one-off short visit involving the UK based applicant and the Taiwanese co-applicant. Both applicants must have completed a PhD or have extensive experience at an equivalent level at the time of application, and must hold a permanent or fixed term contract in an eligible university or research institution in their respective countries. Retired scientists, who are still active in science, may apply. Junior scientists, such as PhD students or postdoctoral researchers, are encouraged to participate. The Royal Society provides up to £12,000 for the UK team’s airfare to Taiwan and the Taiwanese team’s subsistence while in the UK. An additional £12,000 is available from MOST towards the Taiwanese team’s airfare to the UK and the UK team’s subsistence while in Taiwan. Awards are available for a fixed period of two years.
