Export as iCalendar

Primary funder name: UK Space Agency

Closing date: 19 Jun 21

Full text:  The UK Space Agency, under the Space Placement in Industry scheme, with support from the Satellite Applications Catapult, invites applications for its student placements. These support organisations in taking on undergraduate or postgraduate students for paid work placements in the space industry. The purpose is to provide a context for students to experience the breadth of opportunities that the sector can offer, develop skills crucial to the success of the sector, support the growth of businesses within the sector and raise awareness of the UK’s space programme and STEM subjects in general. The placement varies from organisation to organisation and may involve: •a piece of research or a small project that would otherwise not be done; •working as part of a team on a product or client-focused project, or something more independent. Eligible host institutions must be based in the UK and include SMEs, larger organisations for Spaceflight related projects, universities, charities, non-profit or government agencies within the space sector. Projects may be targeted at a student of a specific discipline, or simply describe the skills sought. Students must be undergraduates or postgraduates in a relevant discipline and registered at an educational establishment at the time of their application. The total budget is worth up to £75,000 for grants worth up to £3,000 each. Placements must be at least eight weeks in duration, but may be extended if mutually agreed.
