How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Support for short courses and summer schools - STFC deadline

Primary funder name: Science and Technology Facilities Council

Closing date: 27 Sep 20

Full text: The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites bids for its support for short courses and summer schools. This supports short courses and summer schools that are held in a core research field supported by STFC, including astronomy, solar system science, particle astrophysics, particle physics, and nuclear physics. Courses or schools must be aimed primarily at STFC-funded PhD students. Courses of a specialist technical nature are not supported. Holders of summer schools are expected to seek commercial sponsorship wherever possible whilst retaining the scientific ownership of the school. Organisers of a school are required to ensure that the arrangements for the school comply with the STFC equality scheme. Ernest Rutherford Fellows are expected to participate as lecturers or tutors. The total budget is worth approximately £209,000. Up to £500 is available for management fees. The maximum for any social excursion or conference dinner is £50 per student, or £60 in London. A total of £1,500, or 5 per cent of the total cost, whichever is least, is available for contingency.
