Glass and Glass-Ceramics Research Group

Glass Group May 2010

"The deepest and most interesting unsolved problem in solid state theory is probably the theory of the nature of glass and the glass transition."

        -- P.W. Anderson, Science 267 (1995) p. 1615.

The Warwick Physics Department has a long-established reputation for research and development in glass and glass-ceramics, both for direct applications (e.g. encapsulation of toxic waste) and in fundamental structural studies to improve our knowledge of these materials.  We utilise a wide-range of techniques in our research to extract the most information possible about these fascinating materials.  Please explore the links to the left to learn more about the group and our research.
