Matthew Bradley

Research Interests:

My principal research interests lie in the application of density functional theory to support experimental surface studies. During my PhD I have investigated the quantitative structure and surface stress of a number of adsorbate systems using the sophisticated first principles simulation software CASTEP. In most cases, these systems are known to be intermediate phases of catalytic reactions and understanding the physical properties of these surfaces is therefore of significant scientific and commercial interest.

PhD Supervisors:

Professor D.P. Woodruff FRS and Dr. J. Robinson
