10:30-11:30am Welcome to the Statistics Department (in MS.02)
This event will have a welcome address from several key members of the department:

For Undergraduates:
9:15-10:15am Course Briefing - Providing important information about your course
For MORSE students this will be in L3
For MathStat students this will be in PLT
For DatSci students this will be in B2.02 (on the science concourse NOT in the Zeeman building watch out for this as there are 2 rooms with this code)
10:30-11:45am Meet Others: Morning Coffee and Cake (in the Science Concourse - follow directions from course Briefings)
This is an opportunity to meet other students on your programme.
There will be student ambassadors and staff who will be around and happy to take your question
11:45- 13:00 Top 10 things all Year 1 Stats Students need to know! (in R0.21)
This session will introduce you to the key things that will develop you into a successful student.
You will be introduced to the Statistics Society and what benefits there are to joining them.
13:15 - 14:15 Free Pizza Lunch! (In the Statistics Department Atrium - Follow directions)
Carry on meeting others on your programme.
For Postgraduates:
If you are an MSc student then
10:00-13:00 MSc induction in MS03
You will find out all about the course and be briefed by several members of staff - led by the MSc course director
This will have an intermediate break with drinks and cakes as refreshments.

11:30-12:30 Statistics Department International Student Welcome in Lib2
This event is specifically for our international students although others can attend if they wish.
Meet other international students
Discuss some of the challenges that international students have and how these can be overcome.
Meet Your Personal Tutor
The time for this will be confirmed in Tabula
You will be allocated a 1hr slot to meet with your tutor group and your personal tutor.
Your personal tutor is the person that will be your first contact for support for issues you face on the degree and so its important you meet and attend this session.
There are no official department events on Friday but do make the most of the events the university organises.
Statistics Society BBQ
The statistics society run a BBQ event on the Saturday. Full details will be confirmed closer to the time.
If you have signed up for a Mentor they will arrange to accompany you to this event.
