There are MANY more events during welcome week that are run by the wider university.
This page gives a breakdown of when and where the key department events will be which contain important course information and should not be missed!

For Undergraduates:
10:45-11:45 Welcome to the Statistics Department (in MS.02)
This event will have a welcome address from several key members of the department:

12:00- 13:00 Course Briefing- Providing important information about your course

For Undergraduates:
10:15-11:45 Top 10 things all Year 1 Stats Students need to know! (in R0.21)
This session will introduce you to the key things that will develop you into a successful student. You will be introduced to the Statistics Society and what benefits there are to joining them.
12:00 - 13:30 Free Pizza Lunch! (in the Statistics Atrium)
Meet others on your programme.
15:00-16:00 Joint Degree session- Mathematics [for MORSE and MathStat students only] (in OC1.05)
You’ll meet key contacts from the Department of Mathematics, learn about the support available throughout your studies, and connect with fellow Joint Degree students.
For Undergraduates:
10:00-11:30 Get involved: Opportunities for Statistics Students (in R0.21)
This session is about meeting key services beyond the department.

14:00-15:00 Statistics Department International Student Welcome (in FAB 0.08)
This event is specifically for our international students although others can attend if they wish.
You can meet other international students and discuss some of the challenges that international students have and how these can be overcome.
For Undergraduates:
10:00- 16:00 Meet Your Personal Tutor [you will be allocated a single session only]
The time for this will be confirmed on your Tabula profile.
You will be allocated a 1hr slot to meet with your tutor group and your personal tutor.
Your personal tutor is the person that will be your first contact for support for issues you face on the degree and so its important you meet and attend this session.
For Undergraduates
09:30-10:30 Joint Degree session- Economics [for MORSE students only] (in Panorama)
You’ll meet key contacts from the Department of Economics, learn about the support available throughout your studies, and connect with fellow Joint Degree students.
10:30-11:45 Meet Others: Morning Coffee and Cake (in the Statistics Atrium)
This is an opportunity to meet other students on your programme and there will be student ambassadors and staff who will be around and happy to take your questions.
Statistics Society Social
The statistics society will run a social event on the Saturday. Full details will be confirmed closer to the time.
If you have signed up for a Mentor they will arrange to accompany you to this event.
For MSc in Statistics:
10:00-12:00 Statistics MSc Course Induction (in MS.05)
10:00-11:00 Meet your MSc cohort and lecturers: coffee and cake (in Statistics Staff Common Room, MB1.02)
Have Coffee and Snacks with the MSc Cohort before meeting your personal tutor.
11:00-12:00 Meet Your Personal Tutor (in MSB Atrium)
