Congratulations on your place to study at the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick. As the Director of Student Experience for the department, ensuring your time with us is as rewarding, challenging, and inspiring as possible is at the heart of my role.
To make your transition to university style education as smooth and successful as possible please take advantage of the opportunities for support that you have available. In particular:
- Take a look at the mathematics refresher course. This is a great way to get back on top of the A-level material after a long summer break so that you hit the ground running at the start of term.
- Sign up for a mentor. Their task is to support you and give you tips and advice through the first term on how to be successful and adapt to the university environment in the best way possible.
- Skim the information below. There are resources like building tours and information about how to meet others and engage with the Statistics society social media accounts.
I look forward to meeting you at the upcoming welcome week where we have planned several important induction events with plenty of opportunities to meet peers on your course.
