Pastoral Support and Wellbeing
You will be assigned an Academic Personal Tutor during Welcome Week.
(The following is adapted from Section 6.1 of your Course Handbook)
Your tutor is there to support you with difficulties related to your university career. You must meet with them at least twice per term for updates. There is no formal work involved with the Academic Personal Tutor program.
You should respond promptly to their communications, and keep them informed of any academic or personal problems affecting your performance.
Specific ways in which your personal tutor can help are:
- Providing general academic advice on development, including discussing possible option choices.
- Directing you to the most appropriate service if you experience any personal difficulties.
- Writing a reference letter for job application, grants, or postgraduate study.
