WMG Outreach Activity Report

What is the activity report and how is it used?

The WMG Outreach team keep track of staff and students participating in outreach activities with WMG. This information is collated by WMG Outreach team termly and is then used to give visibility to the work accomplished and feed into the University Inclusion Strategy as well as the WMG Outreach Strategy with an annual report which is circulated internally here.

It is important that you share your outreach activity delivered on behalf of or done with WMG. Please do so by completing this form. If you have any questions, you can email WMG Outreach Team at wmgoutreach@warwick.ac.uk

This form takes about 3-5 minutes to fill in. You will be able to submit any pictures/ evaluation / news item you have as well.

An event may target individual students (through recruitment) and select them based on Widening Participation criteria, which include students who:

  • are the first in their family to go into Higher Education,
  • are from a group that is under-represented in STEM,
  • receive, or have received, free school meals,
  • are young carers,
  • are living with a disability,
  • are in, or have experience of care,
  • are refugees,
  • are from areas of low participation in Higher Education (POLAR data), etc.

Alternatively, an event may target a school that meets criteria indicative of hosting students who are from Widening Participation backgrounds, such as:

  • the school is outside of mainstream education,
  • the school has a percentage of students receiving Free School Meals (you can look this up here: https://www.gov.uk/school-performance-tables) higher than the national average of 23.8% (https://explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk/find-statistics/school-pupils-and-their-characteristics),
  • etc.

If you are unsure, ask the Outreach team before sending the files.
