Bows

The Bows pattern is based on the quarters pattern, with the Bow function now drawing lines on both sides of a point, with 90 degrees between them giving symmetry. I wanted more flexibility in the direction the bow was drawn, so I didn't use 'point to' instructions (as had been used in the quarters function). The turtle starts drawing the next bow with the same orientation direction that it finished the last bow, with giving this beautiful nested pattern.

To place each bow, I used cartesian coordinates.

There is a video tutorial Link opens in a new window available to build a simple version of this pattern.
