Coventry Banner

As the City of Culture 2021, Coventry hosted the Turner Prize at the Herbert Art Gallery. In celebration, the Coventry Banner project was launched, inviting communities from Coventry and beyond to create and submit banners. These banners were then carefully stitched together, forming a striking display that wound its way through the atrium of the Herbert Art Gallery.

The Stitch in Time project contributed two banners, one featuring the work of the children in local schools, and the second featured the work of young people in New York and Nairobi, an international collaboration undertaken by Susan Ettenheim in New York and Max Musau in Nairobi. Both banners are shown below.
