Talking Cybernetics at WMG

Professor Colin WilliamsWMG Honorary Fellow, Professor Colin Williams, will be delivering a series of special weekly lectures exploring The Human Story of Cybernetics.

The nine-week course at WMG’s Cyber Security Centre, commences on Thursday 13th October with ‘When Minds Explode,’ focusing on the intellectual history of the initialisation and early development of Cybernetics. Other lectures include ‘Meat the Machine’ and ‘Cauldrons of Fire and Crucibles of Ice.’

The short course is open to everyone including non-students, and runs each Thursday from 13th October to 8th December 2016, with all lectures taking place from 4pm-5pm.

The course gives attendees the chance to develop a fresh perspective on the origins and nature of the phenomenon we have come to know as ‘Cyber.’ To register your interest contact: cyber.grp@warwick.ac.uk.

Professor Williams

As both a businessman and as an academic, Professor Williams is a leading figure in cyber security. He consults and speaks on cyber, cyber security and strategic enterprise IT procurement in the UK and further afield, and is also the editor-in-chief of CyberTalk.
