Overview:

This collaborative event aims to discuss enabling autonomous transport across land, marine, and air. WMG is among the leaders in safety assurance of autonomous systems across multiple transport domains. We have developed a common and scalable safety assessment framework for autonomous transport systems in land, air and marine, underpinned by our world leading research and learnings on safety of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs), which would enable faster and safer national roll-out of the technologies in the UK.

Aim:

  • To identify common challenges from one another through their experiences across marine, land and air
  • To assess current and working plans in safety assurance across modes of transportation for autonomous systems
  • To increase awareness amongst policy makers of the value of a unified safety assurance approach for all forms of connected and autonomous transport and to consider how research funding, research outputs, and regulatory frameworks and standards could support this approach.

Who should attend:

This event is aimed at local, regional and national policy makers, transport authorities, research funders, standards agencies, transport industry, technology developers, manufacturers across the supply-chain and transport service providers.
