New Director of Apprenticeships at WMG
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Parr as WMG’s new Director of Apprenticeships.
Sue joined WMG in December 2015 as a Business Development Director, tasked with developing our Professional and Executive Programmes, following 12 years at the Open University where she was Director of Executive Education.
Following the huge success of our Applied Engineering and Dyson degree programmes we are now extending our Degree Apprenticeship provision across engineering, digital, cyber security and healthcare.
Our Degree Apprenticeship programmes complement our existing academic and professional courses and enable us to contribute to regional and national employment needs and to enhance our students’ employability and skills. Crucially, they help widen access and participation by introducing alternative entry criteria, new flexible modes of study and new models of delivery.
Through Sue’s leadership, in partnership with employers, we will continue to create sector-leading Degree Apprenticeships at undergraduate and postgraduate levels that are offer innovative thinking, expert insights and engaging learning experiences. Apprentices on our programmes will develop the professional expertise to address the skills shortage and facilitate economic growth.
Sue said: “Building on work we have done to develop educational programmes to meet business needs we are partnering with leading employers to deliver a range of Degree Apprenticeships.
“Our programmes provide new recruits or existing staff with in-work opportunities to develop new skills, whilst also studying for a recognised degree from a top ten UK university. Degree Apprenticeships are an exciting alternative route to higher education, and whilst it can be challenging to balance your full-time job and study, they are an excellent opportunity to progress your career.”
