WMG PhD student wins Young Professional of the Year award
PhD Candidate Siddartha Khastgir has received the prestigious ITS UK national award for Young Professional of the Year in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
ITS UK is a membership association for the promotion of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). It is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote the benefits of ITS and expand the ITS market in the UK.
Professor Paul Jennings, head of the Intelligent Vehicles, and Energy and Electrical Systems research groups at WMG explains: “I nominated Siddartha for this award because his work, learning how to make autonomous vehicles trustworthy, is making an impact on the industry in a very challenging area, and at the same time his boundless enthusiasm and passion for intelligent vehicles research is inspiring engineers at all levels - from schoolchildren to senior industrialists and policy makers."
Siddartha was presented with the award by current President of ITS UK and former MP Steve Norris, at a presentation evening held as a part of the Traffex event in Birmingham.
