Students at WMG Academy Coventry are today celebrating a 100% pass rate in BTEC engineering and 99% across all A-levels.

The academy also saw 85% of engineering students awarded three Distinctions or higher in BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering, with over a third (35%) gaining the highest possible grade of three Distinction Stars.

All geography and further maths students were awarded grades A*-C and 100% of chemistry students achieved grades A*-B.

Kate Tague, Executive Principal of WMG Academy Coventry, said: “We are absolutely delighted with this year’s results and extremely proud of all our students who have worked incredibly hard for two years.

“We have seen a huge improvement since last year, which is entirely down to the commitment and determination of our sixth formers and all the staff involved in their development.”

WMG Academy for Young Engineers provides GCSE, A-level and BTEC education for 14 to 19-year-olds. It opened in 2014 and its first A-level and cohort left in 2016, with 100% going on to university, apprenticeships or work. The academy specialises in science, technology, engineering and maths.
