Research Interests

Automotive engineering. Vehicle electrification and hybridisation. Low carbon mobility. Sustainable automotive engineering. STEM education.

Antony is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IMechE and IET. Since 2001 he has worked in automotive low-carbon powertrain research and development. He has significant industry experience working at Jaguar Cars and Zytek Automotive, specialising in vehicle control systems and hardware-in-the-loop simulation. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has studied and worked in STEM education at various levels from secondary and further through to higher education. Antony earned his PhD in control systems for automotive diesel engines at the University of Nottingham in 2006.

At Warwick, Antony is an education specialist. He designed and now leads WMG's full and part-time MSc in Sustainable Automotive Engineering, managing a suite of MSc modules in hybrid and electric vehicle engineering which he also delivers on WMG's professional programmes:
  • Automotive Hybridisation and Electrification
  • Propulsion Technology for HEV Applications
  • Energy Storage and HV Systems for HEV Applications
Antony supervises a number of doctoral, masters and undergraduate project students, and is active on a number of committees and steering groups both within and outside the university. Antony is author and co-author of a number of internationally published papers on both automotive engineering and STEM education topics.
