Eur Ing Dr George Despotou, PhD, CEng, is a member of the Biomedical Informatics, Imaging and Healthcare Technologies research group at WMG. He is a chartered computer systems engineer, with main expertise in analysis, architecture and assurance of large, high quality and high criticality (including safety critical) computer systems. He has worked on a number of industry projects in the capacity of researcher and consultant in the domains of defence, aerospace and health IT. His research interests include health informatics, software engineering for healthcare, Electronic Health Records, Clinical Decision Support and innovative computer architectures in clinical practice. He is teaches Health Informatics, Electronics Health Records, and systems safety in the MSc Healthcare Operations Management (HOM).
