Research InterestsDr Auinger's interests are in the field of thermodynamic modelling of high temperature reactions and electrochemical corrosion. He has experience of modelling and experimental validation of metal-gas reactions at high temperature as well as coupling diffusion phenomena with thermodynamic equilibrium predictions. |
BiographyIn March 2015, Dr Auinger joined WMG as an Assistant Professor for Materials Modelling, specializing in the field of Transport Phenomena, Thermodynamics and Corrosion. Dr Auinger obtained his diploma of Chemical Engineering in 2005 and his doctorate of Technical Sciences in 2009 (both from Johannes Kepler University, Austria). After this, Dr Auinger spend some time as a postdoctoral researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Eisenforschung GmbH (Duesseldorf, Germany) and as a Consultant for Theoretical Chemistry. TP Hoar Award from the British Institute of Corrosion (2016) EOS Prize of the European Optical Society (2016) Currently, Dr Auinger is also lecturer at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI, Austria). |
