Research Interests

Michael's research interest is in the cost performance of major projects and programmes.


Michael is Director of Overseas Programmes with WMG and an active member of the Association for Project Management (APM). He has taught operations management and project management at Masters level for the last twenty four years and lectured extensively overseas. In 2011 he was invited by Beijing Academy of Science and Technology to become an acknowledged foreign expert for the purpose of teaching in China.

Over the past 10 years he has worked closely with major clients to create tailored programmes to meet specific needs. He is a member of the Earned Value International Advisory Panel (EVIAP) organising international conferences in Project Controls and Earned Value Management. He has also been a member of the APM Specific Interest Group (UK) on Planning Monitoring and Control who set national standards and write guidance for the implementation of Earned Value. He is now a member of the APM Professional Standards and Knowledge Committee and their Steering Committee for Specific Interest Groups. Prior to joining WMG he was a project manager and consultant with GEC.

In September 2016 he became Director of Overseas Programmes and now runs WMG Masters programmes in ten collaborative centres around the world.
