Facilities
Our research group provides the following facilities for you to test your automated transport technologies, covering your virtual and physical testing needs.
3XD Driving Simulator
3xD Simulator is one of the world's most adaptable and advanced driving simulators.
It has the capability to replicate complex driving scenarios, changing lighting conditions, communications interference or unexpected events, all in a safe and repeatable environment.
Safety Pool™ Scenario Database
Safety Pool™ Scenario Database is the world’s largest public library, with more than 270,000 scenarios for Automated Driving Systems (ADS) testing, validation, and certification. We envisions that the safety of every ADS can be transparently tested, validated, and certified through common processes and infrastructures shared across industry, researchers, academia, and policymakers internationally.
With over 150 organisations signed up, Safety Pool™ will be used by regulators in the UK for type approval of Automated Driving Systems in the UK.. It also leads the research and fosters the development of common description languages, standards, and mediums that allow for a meaningful exchange of technical information and artefacts across different stakeholders worldwide.
Safety Pool™ Studio
Safety Pool™ Studio is the world’s first publicly accessible scenario creation tool. Developed by the Safe Autonomy research group at WMG, The University of Warwick, this tool allows the general public and non-technical users in the self-driving ecosystem to design and run testing scenarios for Automated Vehicles (AV).
By engaging with Safety Pool™ Studio, every member of the public and the ecosystem will have an equal opportunity to create scenarios using a graphical interface, in a LEGO-like style. This would enable the public to share their concerns and expectations about safety by creating scenarios in a simple, accessible, and inclusive manner.
PAVE UK Self-driving VR experience
To enable public trust and acceptance of self-driving technology, PAVE UK designed an engaging experience for the general public to experience being a passenger in a self-driving car and explore the possibilities of incorporating this technology in their everyday lives.
Vehicles and Devices for test
We have ownership and access to a range of vehicles (autonomous and/or human controlled).
