Warwick Law Alumnus appointed as new Attorney-General of Malawi

Former Warwick Law School student Dr Chikosa Silungwe was appointed by Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera as the new Attorney-General of Malawi last month. When asked about his new role, Chikosa shared, “it's a huge responsibility reposed in me to serve the people of Malawi.”

The University of Warwick is offering all Warwick alumni a 10% discount on their fees if they choose to study another degree with us.

The Law School is offering to top this up to 20% for Warwick graduates to study on our LLM programmes.

PhD student secures new role with CCAF

Sarah Ombija, a final year PhD student supervised by Professor Dalvinder Singh, recently joined the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF), an interdisciplinary academic research institute at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, as the regulatory researcher for Sub Saharan Africa (SSA).

Warwick Professor elected to governing body of European Law Institute

Professor Christian Twigg-Flesner is one of 28 members of the European Law Institute (ELI) elected by the general assembly to serve on its Council at its Annual Conference held in Vienna earlier this month.

The institute is an independent organisation, which aims to improve the quality of European law.

Warwick Law School is offering a 20% discount on its LLM fees to all Warwick graduates.

If you are interested in studying one of our LLM programmes and have graduated from a degree at Warwick in the past, or you are about to graduate this summer and interested in staying on for an LLM, you will be entitled to a 20% discount on the tuition fee.

Warwick Law Alumna is awarded MBE

Former postgraduate student Faeeza Vaid was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list for her work advancing women’s rights, particularly supporting vulnerable Muslim women.

Faeeza, who studied on our former LLM in Socio-Legal Studies programme and graduated in 2010 with distinction, always showed a passion and interest in human rights during her studies.

Alumnus Joseph Dion Ngute appointed as Prime Minister of Cameroon

Warwick Law School postgraduate alumnus Joseph Dion Ngute has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Cameroon. Dion Ngute took office on 5 January 2019, replacing Philemon Yang, the country’s longest-serving Prime Minister.
