WLS Alumnus appointed as Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of Malawi
Sunduzwayo Madise, who studied on our PhD programme from 2013 to 2017, has been appointed as Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Malawi. Sundu says he pays tribute to the WLS and the University for moulding him into the academic, and leader he is today.
Professor Munro secures CPS funding for important rape research
Congratulations to Warwick Law School’s Professor Vanessa Munro who has been awarded funding to work with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in implementing and evaluating changes to improve responses to complaints and complainants of rape.
Warwick Law School supports launch of Africa Hub
Law School colleagues Professor Sharifah Sekalala and Professor Ann Stewart attended the launch of the Warwick Africa Hub last month, in support of its initiatives. Sharifah and Ann were invited to speak at the event and were joined by Ms Bience Gawanas, one of the Law School’s most distinguished and inspiring African female graduates.
Law School WATE Winners 2022
The Law School has seen significant success in the latest Warwick Awards for Teaching ExcellenceLink opens in a new window (WATE) with four of our colleagues winning awards in different categories. Head of School, Professor Victor Tadros commented "It is terrific to see our staff and postgraduate community receiving recognition for the brilliant teaching they do."
Alumna sets up startup Kaveat to help influencers and models understand and negotiate contracts
Elizabete Ludborza, who studied our Law with Study Abroad in English degree from 2015-2019, has set up her own legal tech startup Kaveat to help social media influencers and models to understand and negotiate legal contracts.
CJC secures prestigious Leverhulme Research Project Grant
Criminal Justice Centre (CJC) directors, Ana Aliverti and Henrique Carvalho, and member, Anastasia Chamberlen, have been awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Trust’s Research Project Grant for their project ‘The Vulnerable State: Appraising the Ambivalent Economies of State Power'.

Congratulations to Dr Serena Natile who has been awarded Warwick's Research Development Fund (RDF) Strategic award to support her project on ‘Transnational social security law in the digital age: towards a just socioeconomic reorder’.
Warwick Law School celebrates Professor Andrew Sanders
The Law School bid a fond farewell to our former Head of School this week, when we celebrated the work and contributions of Professor Andrew Sanders. After three years in post at Warwick, Andrew officially retired at the end of May, but we couldn’t let him go without saying thank you.

Warwick Law School has been ranked 10th in the UKLink opens in a new window in the latest Complete University Guide (CUG), climbing 9 places since last year. This latest result is recognition of the hard work and dedication of all Law School staff to conducting cutting-edge research and delivering high quality education.
New Alumni Blog: Legal Job Hunting
Payal Shah, who studied on our Law 3 year LLB degree from 2017-2020, has written our latest Warwick Law Careers Blog, ‘Legal Job Hunting.’ Payal, who secured the role of Legal Intern at The Walt Disney Company and is now working as a Paralegal at Twitch, writes about her experience of finding work after graduation.
WLS Student Secures Duke & Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship for further study
Wajma Zazai, who is currently studying on our Law 3 year LLB degree and will graduate this summer has been awarded the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship from The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple to support her Bar Vocational Studies.
