Ben Twomey, who studied on our LLM in Advanced Legal Studies from 2015-2016, is Chief Executive at ‘Generation Rent’, who recently secured a landmark win for renters in the UK. After a decade of tireless campaigning, the Renter’s Rights Act has now received Royal Assent making it an act of Parliament and therefore the law.

This week we are delighted to interview Associate Professor and incoming Director of Teaching and Learning (for T3), Dr Charlotte Woodhead, for our Warwick Law School Staff Spotlight series.

In recognition of their contribution to excellence, Professor Jane Bryan, Dr Rajnaara Choudhury Akhtar and Dr Charlotte Woodhead have been nominated for a Warwick 2026 Research Celebration Award.

Warwick Law Society has been nominated in the LawCareers.Net (LCN) Student Law Society Awards 2026 in not one, but four categories.

We are delighted to share that Dr Laura Lammasniemi has been selected as a George Flannery Visiting Fellow at the University of Sydney Law School. These highly competitive fellowships are awarded each year to international researchers who will contribute to the School’s research environment.

Omoyemi Akerele (LLM in International Economic Law, 2001-2002) was awarded the £1 million Earthshot Prize in 2025 for her pioneering work with Lagos Fashion Week.

Warwick Law School alumna Dr Daanika Kamal (IDLHR, 2014-2015) will be joining us to discuss her book Domestic Violence in Pakistan: The Legal Construction of ‘Bad’ and ‘Mad’ Women.

Mara Malagodi’s co-edited book Asian Comparative Constitutional Law Vol. 3 - Constitutional Structures has been nominated for the 2025 Book of the Year Prize by the International Forum on the Future of Constitutionalism.
