Tom Long will be visiting the Global Research Institute at William & Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to present his book-in-progress: "Republican Internationalism: Latin America and the Making of the Modern International Order, 1861-1919." The book project recenters the common narrative that nineteenth-century global order was made in Europe, instead emphasizing Latin America’s place in the “transformation of the world.” The talk draws on Tom and Carsten-Andreas' Schulz AHRC-funded research.
