Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell visits the department and opens observatory

On Tuesday 7 November, Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell visited the university to host a guest lecture and mark the official opening of The Marsh Observatory.


2023 Christmas Lectures tickets

The Christmas Lectures are back this year and audiences can challenge AI to write a Christmas card, discover how animals inspired engineering, explore the colour spectrum, be surprised by snow and wish Sir Isaac Newton a Happy Birthday!

First female winner of the 2024 IRMMW-THz Society Exceptional Service Award

Professor Emma MacPherson has been announced as the first female winner of the 2024 IRMMW-THz Society Exceptional Service Award.


Coventry primary school host Coding with Sophie programme at their after school club

15 students joined the ‘Coding with Sophie’ launch session at Limbrick Wood Primary School after school club, and completed their six session programme just before the summer holidays.

The ‘Coding with Sophie’ programme has been developed by Dr Rebecca Nealon and Dr Farzana Meru, with the aim to improve coding literacy and to inspire children to consider coding (and more broadly STEM) in their future, as well as empowering teachers and parents to support children in their coding journey.
