First Year Undergraduate and IFP Accommodation 2025/2026

The majority of applications for students holding an unconditional firm offer are allocated through a computer ballot which aims to match students to one of their seven campus residence preferences. This computer ballot will take place after 19 August 2025 for students who have met all three guarantee conditions outlined in our Allocation Principles. This will determine which residences students are allocated to or whether (in the event of high demand) we will need to offer partnership accommodation.

Whilst your selected campus residence preferences are taken into account, there is no guarantee that you will be allocated to one of these. Around 65% of our campus is en suite and please be mindful that en suite demand can exceed availability. As you may be allocated to a shared bathroom residence, we would advise that you only select shared bathroom preferences that you would be happy with.

Please bear in mind we may have more rooms adapted for accessibility requirements than are required for the academic year, so it is possible students who do not require adaptations may be allocated to an adapted room.

If you meet the conditions noted in our Allocation PrinciplesLink opens in a new window you'll be guaranteed an offer of university-allocated accommodation, which in the vast majority of cases will include a room in university-owned campus residences or, in the event of high demand, partnership accommodation.

To be guaranteed an offer of university-allocated accommodation as a new, full-time student you will have:

1. Made Warwick your firm choice by 19 August 2025

2. Submitted your accommodation application online by 19 August 2025

3. Hold an unconditional firm offer of study at Warwick by 19 August 2025

If you're coming to Warwick as a first year undergraduate student, we will usually process your accommodation application after A level results have been released, when most students have an unconditional firm offer of study at Warwick. If you are coming to Warwick as an IFP student, we usually process your accommodation application in late August.

Campus accommodation offers will be emailed in late August/early September and you will have two working days to accept your offer of accommodation. If you miss this deadline we may not be able to make another offer of accommodation, so it’s important to regularly check your email accounts including your junk/clutter/spam inbox as we are only able to make one offer of accommodation. If you accept an offer of accommodation for a particular residence on campus, your specific room allocation can change up until your date of arrival. If you happen to reject your offer, and decide to resubmit an application, we may not be able to make you another accommodation offer.

If you haven't heard from us regarding your accommodation by 8 September 2025, then please get in touch with us by emailing accommodation@warwick.ac.ukLink opens in a new window. Please don't contact us if you haven't received an offer before this date and make sure you are regularly checking your emails including your spam/junk/clutter folders. Once you have enrolled and registered for an ITS account at Warwick, we will send correspondence to your Warwick email address, so please make sure you are regularly checking this email account too.

We aim to house first year undergraduate students together in separate flats/corridors to postgraduate students.

During the online application process you will be asked some profile questions for us to better understand your habits and hobbies. If you are successful in being allocated to a room on campus, we aim to take this information into account in order to match you together with other students to help create harmonious households.

In the event we experience high demand for campus accommodation, we may need to offer partnership accommodation to some students. If you are offered partnership accommodation, it's likely that you'll be living alongside other University of Warwick students.

You will still be able to submit an application for accommodation after 19 August 2025 as we will continue to allocate eligible students who apply after this date on a rolling basis, subject to availability, across our campus residences and partnership accommodation. We would encourage you to apply for accommodation as soon as possible if you miss our guarantee deadline.

We advise you to submit any medical evidence in advance of this deadline to ensure there is enough time for it to be assessed.

In addition to getting supported, you'll also need to apply for accommodation and confirm within your application that you have specific accommodation requirements and agree to follow the process to get supported. All students who will be under 18 at the point of entry should be aware that they are applying to live in an adult environment.

If you are under 18 on 25 September 2025 you will only be able to select en suite options for your residence preferences when applying for accommodation. Students aged 17 on 25 September 2025 who would like to be considered for a shared bathroom residence (such as for financial reasons) need to email accommodation@warwick.ac.ukLink opens in a new window by 15 August 2025 and include their shared bathroom residence preferences.
