Fr. Simon Baker
Fr Simon Baker was born in North Staffordshire and after completing his A levels went on to study at the Birmingham Conservatoire. After graduation he worked in local parishes training their choirs and playing for Sunday and other occasional services. In 2009, Simon began his formation to the Sacred Priesthood. He spent a year at St Alban’s College in Valladolid in Spain, then moving for six years to St Mary’s College in Oscott. In July 2016, Simon was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood. For four years he served as Assistant Priest in St Dunstan’s and St Jude’s in Kings Heath, Birmingham and then for two years in St Austin’s, Stafford. In September 2022 he was appointed Parish Priest of St Thomas More and St Joseph the Worker Parishes in Coventry. Within the Archdiocese he is also Chaplain to the Catholic Fellowship; a member of the Ongoing Formation Committee for our priests and acts as one of the Diocesan Master of Ceremonies. During his free time he still enjoys playing the piano and organ and alongside this, when time allows, attending concerts. He enjoys cooking and of course, the wines that accompany.
