Job Description
This Vacancy is part of the Warwick Internship ProgrammeLink opens in a new window and is only open to applicants who are current undergraduate students (including integrated undergraduate Master's e.g. MMORSE, MPhys) of the University of Warwick until July 2023. For UK tax reasons, all applicants must be located in the UK for the duration of the internship. Only applications received according to the instructions below will be eligible. The Dean of Students’ OfficeLink opens in a new window work with Warwick staff and students to further our commitment to excellent academic and pastoral support as part of a strong learning community. We are a team of core staff supported by several tutors, facilitators, and student officers. By joining us you will be part of an innovative team which is passionate about cultivating a positive campus experience for all members of our community.
The Project Officer will work across two core projects - the Community Values Education ProgrammeLink opens in a new window (CVEP) and the Inclusive Education ModelLink opens in a new window. Involvement in other developing projects may also be a possibility.
The CVEP team support the University's work on community values by developing resources that enable students to explore Warwick values in a structured and supportive way. CVEP’s core offer includes the Active Bystander approachLink opens in a new window (equipping students with knowledge, confidence, and skills to safely address unacceptable behaviour) and the Say My Name projectLink opens in a new window (focusing on respectful interactions around names).
The Inclusive Education team focus on developing and raising awareness of the Inclusive Education Model which aims to achieve institutional and structural change that will enable us to deliver education in which all students feel included and able to succeed at Warwick.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised person. The Project Officer will work on a variety of projects and tasks. The types of activities you will get involved with include:
- Identify topics for new resources
- Contribute to brand & communications strategy
- Support students wishing to engage with CVEP
- Manage CVEP webpage updates
- Create web content & contribute to resource development
- Support the creation on an online Inclusive Education Teaching & Learning hub
- Plan student engagement events
- Survey data analysis
- Desk-based research e.g. review literatures & existing resources on key topics.

Knowledge, Education & Skills
- Enthusiastic & supportive of the goals of the Dean of Students’ Office & those of the sub-projects
- Student focused approach to decision making & planning
- Knowledge of communicating & marketing services to students/recruitment into activities
- Experience in working with different types of people
- Able to manage multiple priorities
- Willing to learn & engage with team members proactively
- Proficient writing & communication skills
- Experience of web editing, writing web content/blogs/video blogs/social media is desirable
- Some experience in research activities is desirable e.g. survey creation, survey analysis, review literature etc.
Internship Outline
- You will be supported through an induction, regular 1-1s, team meetings & relevant training.
- You must be UK-based during the internship and will work for 36.5 hours/week - core hours: 9am-12 noon & 1-3pm Mon-Fri or as agreed with Line Manager.
- We offer a hybrid working environment - with some remote work and some in-office work for meetings and events (agreed in advance).
- A loan laptop will be provided if required. A good, reliable internet connection is required.
