Reduction in the number of accessible parking bays at the rear of the Humanities building from four to two.
From 28 October 2024: due to reduced building occupancy and planned demolition of the Humanities building, as well as increased service demands in the area, we will be reducing the number of accessible parking bays at the rear of the Humanities building from four to two and increasing the number of service bays. Frequent monitoring has shown that these bays are not being used, largely due to the reduced occupancy levels of the building. The two remaining accessible bays will be retained until the remaining building occupants are relocated. Alternative accessible bays can be found at the rear of Senate House.
Temporary closure of accessible bays on Library Road adjacent to Engineering
Temporary closure dates: 16th to 17th October 2024
Change of an Accessible bay at Radcliffe Conference Centre
We are making some minor temporary changes to the location of accessible parking within Radcliffe Car Park from the 25/01/2023 for the next few months. This is to prevent electric vehicle (EV) owners from occupying accessible bays to charge their electric vehicles without a blue badge. We are in the process of reviewing electric vehicle charging across campus including the quantity and location in this car park but this temporary measure has come from feedback of blue badge holders and EV owners. Temporary signage will be added to state that the accessible bay next to the charger is for EV vehicles including those with a blue badge.
During this temporary period, the other accessible bays will be unaffected. A reminder that blue badge holders can continue to park in this space if they have an EV vehicle and can park in any vehicle space with a blue badge. Should blue badge holders be unable to park in a dedicated bay and have had to position their vehicle in a way that occupies more than one space, please let Radcliffe reception know.
We are excited about the improvements to the overall provision of EV charging and accessible parking provision across campus. This accessible parking bay will be restored as part of this review.
Map of blue badge spaces on campus
A map of blue badge bays on campus has been added onto our accessibility parking page to indicate where blue badge spaces can be located. This is on Google Maps software. So Blue badge holders can now locate where the nearest accessible space is to their building location.
New external ramp construction - Warwick Business School
We are excited that a new external ramp is to be constructed between WBS and Gibbet Hill Road from Monday 22/03/2021 and Friday 30/04/2021. As a result, pedestrian diversions and traffic management will be in place along Gibbet Hill Road.
The ramp will replace the tapered steps and provide a new shorter step free route into the main reception entrance of WBS from Gibbet Hill Road and central campus.
