A46 Stoneleigh Junction Bridge closure: Starting 21st November for 5 weeks

The diversion route will involve westbound traffic on Stoneleigh road having to head southbound on the A46 to Kenilworth Junction (Thickthorn Roundabout), turn back on themselves and then exit the A46 on the northbound off-slip at Stoneleigh Junction. Eastbound traffic on Stoneleigh road will have to head northbound on the A46 to Stivichall Interchange (Festival Island), turn back on themselves and then exit the A46 on the southbound off-slip at Stoneleigh junction back onto Stoneleigh road.

Any vehicles following this diversion will add approximately 5 minutes to their journey. For clarity, there will be no bridge available at the A46 Stoneleigh Junction to allow traffic East / West travel during this 5 week period. All vehicles will have to follow the diversion or other normally permitted route.

Warwickshire County Council appreciate the disruption this may cause over the proposed 5 week period. However, taking this approach will mean the overall project will finish several months earlier, providing the new junction with better traffic flows and improved safety at an earlier date. It would also reduce the duration of the current Traffic Management installed on the network, reducing the ongoing disruption to the public as the project would end sooner.

It will start on the 21st November. More information about the scheme can be found here: A46 - Project PageLink opens in a new window
