Temporary traffic and pedestrian restrictions on Library Road and Lord Bhattacharyya Way from Monday 7th October 2024 - Friday 17th January 2025

From Monday 7th October, there will be traffic management and road/pathway closures on Library Road and Lord Bhattacharyya Way for essential road trenching. Accessible bays, service bays and pedestrian pathways will be temporarily closed during these phases, with alternative provisions in place.

Phase 1 (07/10/2024 - 18/10/2024): 3-way traffic lights with a single lane closure for road trenching.

Phase 2 (21/10/2024 - 11/11/2024): 3-way traffic lights with a single lane closure for road trenching.

  • The accessible bays by Engineering on Library road will be closed. Alternative accessible bays for phase 2 can be located on University Road adjacent to old Humanities, or please get in touch with the Transport & Mobility teamLink opens in a new window to discuss other options which may be available during this period.

Phase 3 & 4 (12/11/2024 - 17/01/2025):

Phase 3: 3-way traffic lights will be in operation on Lord Bhattacharyya Way between the Energy Innovation Centre, Library Road junction and WMG Concourse with a single lane closure.

  • The pathway closest to Engineering & Energy Innovation Centre will be closed.

Phase 4: 2-way traffic lights will be in operation on Lord Bhattacharyya Way between the Energy Innovation Centre & Library Road junction with a single lane closure.

  • The pathway closest to Engineering & Energy Innovation Centre will be closed.
  • The crossing near the Lord Bhattacharyya Way junction will be temporarily set back further down Academic Loop Road.
