Temporary traffic lights on Gibbet Hill road from 4th November - 22nd November
Between Monday 4th of November - Friday 22nd November, 3-way temporary traffic lights will be on Gibbet Hill road to install a new pedestrian crossing. Traffic delays are expected, the lights will be manually controlled between 6:30am-9:30am and 15:30-18:30pm in an effort to minimise disruption. UPDATE (30/07/2024): Road Closures & Traffic Management for the Sustrans Cycle Scheme - Lynchgate Road & Shultern Lane
UPDATE (30/07/2024): Between Monday 12th February - 2nd August 2024, sections of Lynchgate Road & Shultern Lane will be closed to support a segregated bi-directional cycle route for the Sustrans Cycle Scheme and improve pedestrian crossings. The project will be delivered in 2 phases:
- Phase 1: Closing the left turn in/right turn out from the junction of Shultern Lane and direct any traffic requiring access to Aldi around the circulatory route. Access to Tesco will not be affected and diversion signs will be posted.
- Phase 2: Lynchgate Road will be closed at the entrance to Tescos and traffic will be directed around the circulatory route. Diversion signs will be posted.

Partial closure of A429 Kenilworth Road: Monday 16th September - Friday 25th October
From Monday 16th September - Friday 25th October, Kenilworth Road between the Gibbet Hill Road roundabout and Crackley Lane junction will be closed to support the installation of a new overbridge. Phase one: Monday 16 September – Friday 27 September
- Stop-go boards will be operated as required during off-peak hours between 9.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday only.
- Inspections and surveys of drainage and utilities and carrying out verge maintenance.
Phase two: Monday 30 September – Friday 25 October
- A 24/7 full road closure will be in place for four weeks.
- Undertaking the relocation of multiple sets of utilities to the new road alignment and completing earthworks to build the embankments.
- Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout.
Phase three: Early 2025
- In early 2025, an additional full road closure will be in place to complete the permanent road realignment, including construction of the highway itself, highway drainage, road surfacing, curbing installation of traffic signs and street furniture.
Crackley Lane road closure: Monday 27th May - Friday 21st June

A46 Mainline Lane 1 Closure – A46 Mainline Lane 1 Closure both North and South bound: Wednesday 24th April to Sunday 11th August 2024
On the morning of Wednesday 24th April 2024 the A46 will be reduce to two lanes between Stonebridge Highway Junction(Thickthorn) and the Kenilworth Road Junction (Stivichall). This is to allow the scheme to progress safely while contractors is working in the verges. The lane closures will remain in place until the evening of Sunday 11th August 2024. Due to the reduction in road capacity please expect delays during peak times. Full overnight closures will be in place over the first two nights and final two nights to allow the safe installation of the traffic management, a signed diversion will be in place for the full closures.
In addition to these works, HS2 are constructing the A46 Box structure and will complete preparatory works by installing traffic management on the A46 between Thickthorn roundabout and A45 Stivichall Interchange. This traffic management is a combination of lane restrictions and overnight carriageway closures between May and October followed by a closure in early 2025 to install the new structure.
