Congratulations to the Estates team who have won the IOG Industry Award title for the Best Managed Artificial Sports Surface of the Year.
The Institute of Groundsmanship awards celebrate the very best in UK grounds care from organisations across the UK.
The prestigious award ceremony takes into account environmental considerations and highlights student grounds professionals and the quality standards of groundscare achieved in public and private sports venues.
Alan Warwood, Head of Facilities, says:
"I am delighted that Charlie Yeomans and his team have been recognised with this prestigious national award. An enormous amount of work, skill and dedication goes into providing this standard of sporting surfaces.
"This supports our ambition to provide fantastic facilities for students, staff and the local community. It is particularly pleasing to achieve this honour in the year we have opened our amazing Sports and Wellness Hub."
The awards were hosted by BBC TV Presenter, Dan Walker at The Fox, located inside Resorts World at the NEC, Birmingham. This was a sold-out event, recognising leadership, innovation and outstanding achievement across every aspect of groundscare.
Geoff Webb, IOG Chief Executive, says:
"We've enjoyed a glorious year of professional sport and this has highlighted the crucial role played by high-class playing surfaces - and, therefore, also our superb groundscare skills."
