In July 2024, following the 2024 Academic Governance Review, the University Senate and Council approved the establishment of the Academic Regulations and Policy Review Panel.

Purpose:
The Academic Regulation and Policy Review Panel proposes and upholds the common principles of the University’s overarching framework for Academic Regulation and Policy. The Panel advises responsible Policy Owners and committees on developing compliant regulation or policy to achieve the policy aims.
It scrutinises and endorses revisions and amendments to existing regulations and academic policies, and proposed new regulations and academic policies, to ensure coherence of approach, consistency of style and to secure academic standards, providing a recommendation to endorse, revise or reject to the responsible committee or policy owner.

[To responsible committees, subcommittees, panels and/or responsible policy owners] A recommendation to endorse, revise or reject on revisions and amendments to existing regulations and academic policies, and proposed new regulations and academic policies in line with the Academic Regulation and Policy Framework. |

Notification of papers for consideration by the Academic Regulations and Policy Review Panel should be submitted to the Secretary three weeks in advance and the paper should be submitted two weeks in advance of the meeting at which they are to be considered.
