In July 2024, following the 2024 Academic Governance Review, the University Senate and Council approved the establishment of the Academic Regulations and Policy Review Panel.

Terms of Reference
- Proposes and upholds the expectations of the University’s overarching framework for Academic Regulations and Policy.
- Advises responsible Policy Owners and committees on developing compliant regulation or policy to achieve the policy aims.
- Scrutinises and endorses revisions and amendments to existing regulations and academic policies, and proposed new regulations and academic policies, to ensure coherence of approach and consistency of style.
- Does not approve, but all advice (endorse, change or reject) is relayed to the approving committee.

Notification of papers for consideration by the Academic Regulations and Policy Review Panel should be submitted to the Secretary three weeks in advance and the paper should be submitted two weeks in advance of the meeting at which they are to be considered.
