Assembly Representatives on the Senate

As set out in Statute 9Link opens in a new window and Ordinance 6Link opens in a new window, the Assembly of the University has the power to appoint six members to the Senate, of whom: four should be academic staff, and two should be professional services staff, and make recommendations to the Council or to the Senate on any matter relating to the University, including any matters referred to it by the Council or by the Senate.

Interests (in terms of Senate business): I’m particularly interested in issues relating to workers who have traditionally been marginalized in the academy, Assembly representation in governance, academic freedom, and the evolving UK education policy landscape. Interests (in terms of Senate business): I’m interested in student experience, staff wellbeing and quality assurance. I focus on the practical administrative implications of policy changes and decisionmaking, the implications of decisions for student experience and staff workload and wellbeing.

Interests (in terms of Senate business): I regularly highlight matters relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion on Senate and any areas which may require further discussion or Equality Impact Assessments. As a Warwick Alumni I also bring a unique perspective having seen the University from both the student and staff sides. I also focus on issues relating to professional services staff on grades 6+. Assembly members are encouraged to get in touch about these or any other issues.
