Bullying and Harassment

The University of Warwick believes that its research environment should be safe and inclusive. It has policies in place to promote and maintain safe and inclusive working environments, as detailed below.

Researchers should familiarise themselves with these policies, adopt and encourage appropriate behaviours and report any instances of bullying and harassment.

  • The University believes that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their status, rank, grade, belief or any protected characteristic, that everyone has the right to feel safe, and that bullying and harassment of any kind is completely unacceptable.

  • Staff or students can report any incidences of bullying and harassment and access appropriate support through the Report + Support pages.

    • The University also has a Whistleblowing Policy, which provides guidance on how to raise concerns about cases of actual or potential wrongdoing, that may cause a danger to others or be illegal.

    • The University undertakes appropriate due diligence on any sub-contractors, partners and suppliers to ensure they uphold appropriate standards and have policies in place with respect to bullying, harassment and safeguarding.

    • The University may be obliged to report any instances of bullying and harassment to research funders as per their terms and conditions of funding.
