Format: Communications campaign, in-person events, student blogs and videos
Length of project/engagement: Year-round, particularly on awareness days and weeks.
Why this approach: We needed an approach that helps to build awareness of support services and resources on campus. Not only through communications, but through events and blogs- to ensure that the student voice isn't lost.
Wrote tips for supporting your wellbeing, which helps our communications feel more personal whilst offering practical advice for students.
Signposted to a number of resources on and off campus e.g. brief consultations, SU Advice Centre, Togetherall, and the #GetWarwickTalking campaign.
Created a set of webpages
Designed supporting communications for the webpage and events
Staff ran a number of wellbeing events throughout the year:
Pets as Therapy
Exam anxiety drop-in sessions
Sports (such as yoga and mediation)
‘DesStresstival’- and entire festival of events to support students’ wellbeing throughout the exam season.
The communications included:
A main webpage
Social media
Student newsletters
MyWarwick (website and app)
Sigital screens across campus.
For University Mental Health Day, there was a wellbeing ‘takeover’ newsletter to students, encapsulating all the events and support available on campus
Warwick Sport organised many of the active events, particularly during DeStressival. They also use their own channels to encourage student attendance, including targeted emails and the Warwick Sport app.
Students:
We encouraged student dialogue through:
UniBuddy blog posts signposted on the webpage,
Takeovers on Warwick’s social media channels (e.g. Instagram) from students attending the events.

Wellbeing takeover newsletter had a positive open rate and click rates, despite being towards the end of term.
Positive web traffic towards the mental health and wellbeing pages all year round, but particularly during awareness weeks and days when we are more likely to signpost to the page.
