Applications for the 2024 Japanese Government (MEXT) Postgraduate Scholarship (Embassy recommendation scheme) are now open, and application forms are available to download via the Embassy of Japan website at:

This scholarship is tenable for 24 months from April 2024 or 18 months from September/October 2024, including six months of Japanese language education, with no prior knowledge of the Japanese language necessary for most subjects. Research or study can be undertaken in almost any field so long as it is related to a grantee’s field of expertise or previous study, and this is for those who intend to obtain a Master’s, professional or doctoral degree in Japan.
