Barcelona Summer School Registration of Interest 2026

We are pleased to promote the Barcelona International Summer School (BISS), which has remained a highly popular and well‑attended summer school for Warwick students over many years, hosted in the beautiful city of Barcelona

BISS offers 1, 2 and 4 week curse options from 29 June - 24 July 2026

Eligibility criteria

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate program and have successfully completed at least the first year of studies (typically 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year students).
  • Hold a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (equivalent to a 7 out of 10 on a UPF scale or a B+).
  • Demonstrate a good command of the language of instruction of the chosen course

1 week, 2 week and 4 week course options

Tuition Fees

For Warwick students, tuition fees are calculated at the discounted rate~ of €17.69 per ECTS credit#:

  • 1-week course (2 ECTS): €35.38
  • 2-week course (4 ECTS): €70.76
  • 4-week course (6 ECTS): €106.14

Includes:

  • Tuition and examination charges
  • Social programme activities
  • Official academic transcript on completion of programme

Not Included (additional costs):

  • Flights/ travel to and from the host university
  • Accommodation
  • Meals
  • Insurance, visa, and handling services are not provided

  • Students can apply for short term funding, however this is not guaranteed. Please consider this before making your application.

How do I apply?

In order to benefit from the alliance discount for BISS 2026, please complete the following steps by Round 1: Monday 2 March 2026 or Round 2: Wednesday 1 April 2026

Step 1

Review the opportunity and consider the dates and costs required

Source a referee from your academic department and ensure that they can provide a reference by the relevant deadline

Step 2

To be nominated complete our online registration form before the deadline by noon on:

  • Round 1: Monday 2 March 2026
  • Round 2: Wednesday 1 April 2026

Step 3*

Arrange for your referee to complete an online reference (link below) for you

  • Round 1: noon on Monday 2 March 2026
  • Round 2: noon on Wednesday 1 April 2026

This should be someone from your academic department *

We will confirm which students have been successful in being nominated

Next steps

We will review submissions after each nomination deadline and once validated inform BISS of nominees, and you of the outcome

  • If you are nominated we will send you the next steps for you to apply to the BISS
  • You will be required to complete BISS online application:
    • Round 1: Sunday 15 March 2026
    • Round 2: Tuesday 14 April 2026

* It is your responsibility to contact your referee and ensure your reference is completed in time, we will not be able to confirm receipt of your reference - you should ask your referee to confirm with you that they have submitted this. We can only review applications whose reference has been received

# Please note that normally it is not possible for Warwick students to receive credit transfers from Summer programmes unless your home department has advertised an opportunity with such a possibility. It is up to your home department to agree to credit transfers so you will need to check this with them directly
