Dragon 100 2025

Dragon 100 annually gathers 100 young Chinese leaders from around the world at Hong Kong and visit the Greater China. They will study the issues of Chinese culture and recent development, exchange ideas and to build network.

We are thrilled to offer one Ethnic Chinese student the opportunity to have a guaranteed place on the eight day programme with The Dragon Foundation. All applicants which we approve, nominate and are selected by the foundation will receive a 20% discount off the full programme fee.

About

The programme is organised by The Dragon FoundationLink opens in a new window, which was set up in Hong Kong by the Home Affairs Bureau, Home Affairs Department (Home and Youth Affairs Bureau currently) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups in 2000. The Dragon Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organisation with a long-term commitment to nurturing young people of Chinese origin worldwide as leaders of tomorrow. Young Chinese leaders from around the world are provided with opportunities to meet, explore topical global issues, and exchange ideas, thereby building a network among themselves. 

Eligibility

  • Ethnic Chinese aged 18-40
  • Outstanding academic achievements or strong professional background

  • Priority will be given to participants who can speak Mandarin

This year’s theme, Drops of the Future: Sustainability, highlighting water resource management in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Dongjiang Water Supply Project. It also introduces and empowers the participants to the Sustainable Development Goals, including Clean Water and Sanitation (Goal 6); Sustainable Cities and Communities (Goal 11); Climate Action (Goal 13) and Life Below Water (Goal 14).

Delegates will experience three vibrant cities: Hong Kong, Huizhou (惠州), and Dongguan (東莞). Through visits to water management facilities, ecological projects and innovative tech enterprises, participants will gain hands-on insights into sustainable development solutions. The itinerary also features cultural immersions at historical landmarks, fostering a sense of national identity.

The programme runs from 17–24 December 2025

  • 17–18 December: Hong Kong
  • 19–21 December: Huizhou
  • 22–24 December: Dongguan & back to Hong Kong

Cost

Programme Fee

HK$3,200 (this includes a 20% discount from the full fee)

This covers:

  • All accommodation (shared room)
  • All main meals and domestic transportation during the Programme
  • All major entry fees and activity costs
  • Travel Insurance for Programme period.

Participants are responsible for covering their own costs on: transport to Hong Kong for non-Hong Kong residents; transport after dismissal in mainland China; visas and other necessary travel and health documents where applicable.

All payment should be settled after The Dragon Foundation selection process.

How do I apply?

You must be formally nominated through Student Mobility for Dragon 100 2025. To do so you must complete the following steps - noting the various deadlines

Step 1

Review the opportunity and consider the dates and costs required

Source a referee from your academic department and ensure that they can provide a reference (Step 3) by the deadline

Step 2

Complete our online application form before the deadline 10am (UK time) on Tuesday 14 October 2025

Step 3*

Arrange for your referee to complete an online reference (link below) for you before 10am on Tuesday 14 October 2025. This should be someone from your academic department

Step 4

Complete the Dragon 100 application form (noting the detail provided under "More information" above) before their deadline 16:59 (UK time) on Tuesday 21 October 2025

By Monday 20 October 2025 we will confirm which students have been successful in being nominated for Dragon 100 2005 and if you have secured the guaranteed place. We will submit the nomination form for all nominated students to Dragon 100 by their deadline on Tuesday 21 October 2025.
