HKUST Summer School 2026
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Summer School welcomes undergraduate students from institutions outside the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to study at HKUST in the summer. The program aims to create a rewarding summer experience for students around the world. Students can participate in the program for either 4 or 8 weeks. It offers a wide variety of undergraduate-level, credit-bearing# courses taught by HKUST faculty and opportunities to participate in local excursions and cultural activities that enable students to gain insight into the region.

About
The HKUST Summer School is a credit-bearing#, course-taking program. It consists of two 4-week Sessions. Courses are offered in either Session 1 or 2, bounded by the class dates of the respective Session. Students can join one Session or both.

Eligibility
- Students enrolled in a full-time degree program, at undergraduate level or above,
- Have completed at least the first year of the degree program at the home institution by the start of HKUST Summer School
- Students must satisfy HKUST's English Language Admission RequirementLink opens in a new window
- Students must be age 18 or above by the start of the HKUST Summer School
Residential Period
- Session 1: 11 June - 12 July 2026
- Session 2: 9 July – 9 August 2026
- Both sessions: 11 June – 9 August 2026

How do I apply?
In order to be nominated the HKUST Summer School 2026, please complete the following steps by noon (UK time) on Monday 19 January 2026
Step 1
Review the opportunity and consider the dates and costs required
Source a referee from your academic department and ensure that they can provide a reference by the deadline
Step 2
Complete our online application form before the deadline noon on Monday 19 January 2026
Step 3*
Arrange for your referee to complete an online reference (link below) for you before noon on Monday 19 January 2026
This should be someone from your academic department
We will confirm which students have been successful in being nominated
Next steps
We will notify all applicants of the outcome by 17:00 Monday 2 February 2026
- If you are selected we will formally nominate you to HKUST
- You will then be contacted by HKUST who will provide details on their application procedures

Successful applicants are required to accept the offer by settling the fees before the payment deadline as stated on the offer letter

#Please note that normally it is not possible for Warwick students to receive credit transfers from Summer Schools unless your home department has advertised an opportunity with such a possibility. It is up to your home department to agree to credit transfers so you will need to check this with them directly
