Shanghai Jiao Tong University Summer School

We are thrilled to offer 5 students the opportunity to be nominated to attend a 2 or 4 week Global Summer School at Shanghai Jiao Tong University without having to pay a tuition fee. This is a saving of up to £865!

2019 SJTU Global Summer School runs two sessions from July to August:
Session A (11 July-26 July): a two-week session that focuses on Chinese Policy, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Urban Horticulture
Session B (11 July - 2 August): a four-week session that offers course in Chinese Creativity, China Studies and Brain facts.
In addition, free Chinese Language and Culture is offered as optional course to all students. Global Summer School provides international students with a unique experience of Chinese culture and history through a combination of lectures, workshops and field trips. To find out more click here.

In order to apply to be nominated for a tuition-fee free place on the SJTU Global Summer School, please complete the form below by Monday 22 April 2019 at 23:59.

Please note: if you apply direct to SJTU through their website without completing the below online form you will not be able to access the tuition fee waiver.

Have you undertaken a study or work experience abroad during the course of your studies (includes term abroad)
If you have previously applied for a place on the Renmin Summer School or North America Bursary for which a reference has already been provided, there is no need to request a further reference from your department as we shall use your previously collected reference. Please note that you are responsible for requesting your reference, and this reference shall form part of the scoring of your application.

TIMELINE TO APPLY

1) Submit Expression of Interest Form on this page by Monday 22 April 2019 at 23:59

2) Organise for an academic to submit a letter of support (using the below form) by Monday 22 April 2019@ 23:59

3) You will be informed of the outcome of your application on Thursday 25 April 2019

4) If your application is successful and you have been informed you are being nominated for a tuition fee free place, you will need to complete the online application form by no later than Tuesday 30 April 2019.

For this you will require:

  • Scan of the ID page of student passport (6 months + remaining)
  • ID photo/passport photo
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Motivation letter
