Mental Health Awareness Week and 'It Takes Balls to Talk' campaign

Mental Health Awareness Week - Monday 14th May 2018 to Friday 18th May 2018.

During Mental Health Awareness Week the Mind bus visited the campus along with the 'It Takes Balls to Talk' campaign. ‘It Takes Balls to Talk’ is a campaign which uses sporting themes to encourage people, particularly men, to talk about how they feel.

The Mind bus was located in Benefactor Place next to the Piazza on Friday 18th May 2018. Staff and volunteers from the 'It Takes Balls to Talk' campaign and Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, along with members of the university's Mental Health and Wellbeing Team were present to promote the services available to support both students and staff at the university as well as be on hand to provide advice or assistance where necessary.

Stories for Success Resilience Workshop

Friday 11th May 2018 - Seminar Room, 2nd Floor of the Library

Fairy tales have existed across time and many cultures. This workshop aimed to give students a chance to think about what such stories can tell us about our wellbeing with a focus on resilience and importance of community and cooperation. This event offered a range of interactive activities which stimulated discussions, reflection and thoughts about what we can learn from fairy tales. As fairy tales have a familiar format and longevity, the aim was to use them as a vehicle for getting students to reflect on their lifestyle and the way they approach their wellbeing.
