1. Place is confirmed
Nothing further is required. Congratulations!
If your place is confirmed on UCAS and you have received an email from Warwick, there is nothing else you need to do at this stage. Over the coming weeks you will receive information about Welcome Week and joining Warwick in September 2026.
2. There is no decision
If you have checked UCAS and there is no change in your application status, there are likely to be outstanding conditions to your offer, i.e. verification of GCSE grades or an English language qualification. Please check your offer conditions to see what is outstanding. You will need to provide Admissions with this before we are able to make a decision on your application.
3. Unsuccessful
If your application is showing as unsuccessful on UCAS it is likely that you have not met the conditions of your offer in full. You have either not met the required grades and/or not achieved a required grade in a specific subject. The University has considered your application and is unable to offer you a place on the course that you applied for.
If you are interested in courses that are available in and meet the entry requirements, we would recommend calling us on our Clearing Hotline to discuss this with the team from Thursday 13 August 2026.
4. Querying the decision
We understand that an unsuccessful decision is disappointing but in the majority of courses, competition for places is extremely high so we are not able to accept applicants who do not meet the conditions of their offer in full.
5. Appealing results
If your application is unsuccessful and you decide to appeal one or more of your results, we would encourage you to speak to your school or college to support you in this process.
The current decision made on your application will not change whilst you are appealing your result. If you are able to provide evidence that you have made a successful appeal, resulting in your grades increasing to meet the terms of your offer in full, and you can provide evidence to the Admissions Service by 2 September 2026, we would honour your original offer.
6. Remark
If your application is unsuccessful and you decide to request a remark in one or more of your results, we would encourage you to speak to your school or college to support you in this process.
It is important to note that remarks are not guaranteed, and your grade might go up or down. The current decision made on your application will not change whilst you are going through the remark process.
If, following your remark, you meet the conditions of your offer in full, we will honour your original offer, provided we receive your results from UCAS or the exam board by 2 September 2026.
If your grade is raised as the result of a remark but you do not meet the conditions of your offer in full, we may, at our discretion, consider confirming your place for some courses subject to competition for places.
7. Mitigating circumstances
There are often circumstances that affect an applicant’s performance during their examinations.
The Undergraduate Admissions Service contacted all offer holders in June 2026 to give applicants the opportunity to provide details of any mitigating circumstances by 10 July 2026 so that they could be reviewed ahead of the results being published.
Each case of mitigating circumstances provided by the deadline is considered very carefully. Unfortunately the Admissions Service is not able to consider new cases after the deadline. We will not be able to accept applicants with mitigating circumstances in all cases.
8. Querying your fee status
If you have been classed as an Overseas student for tuition fee purposes and wish to have your fees classification reviewed, please fill in our fee assessment questionnaire and return this, along with supporting documents, via our webform as soon as possible. We would also encourage you to read our guidance notes to support the completion of the fee assessment questionnaire.
