Why study History of Art at Warwick?

  • Our wide-ranging courses emphasise scholarship, enquiry and creativity. Your degree is designed to allow you to select modules that suit your interests, with site visits an integral part of the course.
  • Venice is at the heart of our History of Art and History of Art with Italian degrees. We are the only art history department in the UK to enable you to spend a full term studying in Venice. Our students and staff are based at the University’s 15th Century Palazzo Pesaro Papafava near the famous Grand Canal.
  • You’ll be working alongside scholars of international standing, who are committed to excellent teaching. We’re currently ranked in the top 10 for all major UK league tables for the subject and achieved a 91% overall satisfaction result in the National Student Survey 2016. We are also second in the UK for the percentage of Art History research publications achieving the highest classification in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), with 46% of these publications assessed as ‘world leading’. This means you’ll be joining one of the most dynamic and cutting-edge places to study the History of Art.
