Science on the Hill - Catch up if you missed our last event
On Tuesday evening we (WIE!) ran the latest online Science on the Hill public event 'New Scientists: New Research' with the SOTH team from WMS, SLS and QBP. Once again we used the Streamyard online studio which produced the livestream on our Warwick Youtube channel. Hosted by our very own Honorary Fellow Professor Kevin Moffat, the speakers included Dr Erin Greaves from Warwick Medical School and Dr Ellie Jameson and Emily Hill from the School of Life Sciences.
Congratulations to Professor Michael Scott for his recent Classical Association award win
We caught up with Professor Michael Scott, Director of the new Warwick Institute of Engagement, to celebrate his recent Classical Association award win and get some inspiration on delivering meaningful public engagement. Outreach: The importance of life beyond the classroom - By Nick Barker
Nick Barker, one of our Fellows and a truly inspiring individual, shares his experiences of working in a primary school serving an area of severe social deprivation in this powerful piece written for the Higher Education Policy Institute.
"What I wish for is that people with the responsibility of deciding the shape and form of our education system might, somehow, be able to see into the lives of children who grow up in one of the many communities such as the one where I work. That their two worlds could somehow, regularly, combine."
Congratulations to the Warwick Institute of Engagement’s new Fellows
