A Practical Introduction to Citizen Science

Friday 8 May, 10.00am - 12.30pm, Online

This training session will introduce you to the theory, history and practice of citizen science and scientific crowdsourcing. Then take you through the key practical questions to think about when planning and running a citizen science activity, using examples from real projects. The session will include a comfort break midway through.

About the trainer

Sophia is an award-winning public engagement practitioner who has worked in the field for 25 years. For the last 11 years she has been developing and running co-produced citizen science projects, including Parenting Science Gang and Depression Detectives.

Last Minute Cancellations/No Shows

This session is subject to our training cancellation policy. If you can no longer attend you must give at least 7 days notice to cancel your place of else receive a strike on your record. Those with two strikes will be barred from future training and WIE Funding until the following academic year.
